Hourly to Salary Calculator
The quick trick of doubling the hourly rate and adding three zeros assumes 2,000 paid hours a year. Real contracts differ: unpaid leave, overtime and part-time weeks all move the number. This converts in both directions with those accounted for.

Why “times 2,080” is only sometimes right
2,080 is 40 hours across 52 weeks — the figure that assumes every week of the year is paid, including holidays and vacation. That holds for most salaried roles in the United States, where paid leave is counted inside the salary. It does not hold for hourly work with unpaid time off, where the real multiplier might be 1,920 or lower.
Overtime changes the effective rate, not the base
Overtime at 1.5× raises annual pay but also raises hours worked. The effective hourly figure — total pay divided by total hours, including overtime hours — is the honest comparison when you are weighing one job against another. A job paying more through overtime is not the same as a job paying more per hour.
Monthly is not four weeks
A year has 52.18 weeks, not 48. Dividing weekly pay by four overstates monthly income by about 8%. This calculator divides annual pay by twelve, which is how salaried pay actually arrives and why some months contain three pay periods for people paid biweekly.
